- The Lowestoft carnival is a project that lasts all year round. There are many events which are all run by volunteers.
- Volunteers are always required for events during the year, please contact us about the chance to marshall one of our forthcoming events.
- All vehicles and drivers must be covered by a third party liability insurance and will be required to observe all relevant road traffic or relevant legislation that applies to participation in a procession in the public highway.
- The carrying and consumption of alcohol or non prescription drugs on floats is prohibited at any time before or during the procession.
- No giveaways, freebies or other items are to be handed down or thrown from the floats, although they may be handed out by walking entrants accompanying the floats.
No children under the age of 16 years will be allowed in the procession unlessaccompanied by a responsible adultthroughout the procession. Collecting can only be done with the official buckets which will be provided on request before the start of the carnival and cannot be issued to persons under the age of 16 years, unless accompanied by a responsible adult. At the dispersal point-All collection buckets must be handed in and any monies found on the float after the parade can be handed in to the reception at the Lowestft Hospitol. Whilst there is every desire for participants to enter into the ' Carnival Mood ' you are reminded to avoid causing a nuisance to other entrants or the general public. Therefore no water, flour or other substances likley to cause offence or distress to the public will be allowed. Any floats not adhearing to this request will be removed from the parade. No skates or skateboards will be permitted in or around the procession. All floats and vehicles must be suitably decorated. Each vehicle in the procession must provide sufficient entry stewards for the size of the entry. The marshalls or members of the procession committee reserve the right to remove any float or entry from the procession for failure to comply with these rules as circumstances require. - In all matters relating to the procession the decision of the marshalls or judges is final and no discussion will be entered into with any entrant or interested party.
- The procession always goes ahead irrespective of the weather.
